Heifer International is a volunteer, not-for-profit group that gives animals to needy families throughout the world. They provide training on care, feeding, help with fencing, and also provide assistance for single mothers in need. They are a wonderful organization, and the majority of all donations to their group goes directly to helping those in need.
A gift of a goat to a needy family is more than just one animal. They are given a pregnant doe. When she kids, they will have another doe (increasing eventual milk produced), or have a buck they can sell. They will also have nourishing, wholesome goat's milk for up to a year.
We all want things. But do we need them? Think of others, and give the gift of a goat.
